After leaving Arizona on June 1st we drove to our first lay-over in Amarillo Texas. Boy, what an awful surprise! Neither one of us was prepared for the smell when we opened our car doors at the Best Western. The gal behind the desk didn't know what we were talking about when we said the air outside was so bad we could hardly breathe. Finally we realized why she didn't seem concerned...she breathes it everyday! Evidently there are close to 1 Million cows in feedlots surrounding this town. She said it something that hits you real hard when you drive in, ... You can smell the strong odor in your car air vents for days even after you leave. Great... Out comes my inhaler and Nybulizer!
I told Cullen to make sure we pass this town on our return trip home! On the evening of our second day on the road, we arrived at our first destination, Dallas, Texas! Two whole weeks for Cullen and I to enjoy his oldest son Robert and daughter Jennifer, along with 5 of his grandchildren!
One week we stayed with Cullen's daughter and son-n-law, Jennifer and Jeremy, along with their three children, Bruce, Cade, and Emma Grace. We planned this trip to be here in time for their oldest son, Bryce's graduation. I'm so glad that Cullen and I were here to be apart of such a special occasion. The second week we stayed with his son Robert and daughter-n-law, Jennifer and their two girls, Lauren and Morgan. We missed seeing Cullen's youngest son, David and his family. He is still stationed in Okinawa. |

Jennifer and Jeremy treated us along with Jeremy's parents for Fathers Day adventure to the 'Revolver Brewing Festival' We were able to taste all the homemade beer and listen to some local live music!
Texas Beer Festival at the "Revolver Brewery" - Each of the 10 fermenters holds 4000 gallons of beer

Jeremy and Jennifer treated us to a lunch in Grandbury at a little "hole in the wall" bar-b-que shop before we went to the Festival. They serve some of the best slow roasted brisket that I have eaten in years.
